Letting Go of Breastfeeding

I wrote a blog post over here about my decision to finally give up breastfeeding. My baby is so super  happy, and after many tears, so am I. Our next step will be trialing solids. But, for now, I'm enjoying a happy, healthy baby who is catching up on his sleep and his weight. :)

  1. Hi Meredith, please let us know what formula is he taking and how did you get him to drink it!!
I tried everything..Alimentum, Neocate, Nutramigen and he wants nothing to do wih them..that sends me into guilt mode..and I convince myself that I can keep the diet..but at 112 pounds I know I need to do something ASAP..
    I'm very happy for you!!

  3. Hey, I just stumbled upon this blog after doing research on FPIES (sooo much reading...trying to figure things out because our Doctors have been useless!) and this post intrigued me because this is exactly where I am now with my daughter(just turned six months old) She needs to start trialing solids, anything to get her a little chunkier, (she is Breastfed..and has had reflux, colic, gas, mucous poops, fpies reactions to soy/dairy formula..etc) I am exhausted and hungry (have been on elimination diet for 5 months) I want/need to switch her to a formula to get her on a happy baseline, but I have no idea how to start this whole process...and then of course there is the guilt I feel for wanting to stop. Any advice on how you did this, what you tried, and how I can go about this?(the blog entry you wrote is on private) We need to get her to a healthy baseline! Thanks!

  4. Hi,

We are dealing with a ten month old with FPIES and I'd love to read your post on breastfeeding. How can I get an invite to the blog (which is showing up as private)?

    Thanks,
    Chris
